Over three thousand years Father sun had been burning
Blinding all by his heat and his might
While Mother Moon quietly waited in darkness
Birthing the stars with her silvery light
They worshipped his power
Built temples and tombs
and honoured his masculine glory
While she lit the path for our souls through the dark
Her deeds a forgotten story
Father Sun kept shining without any pause
Scorching and burning with force
Mother moon had been banished and hidden from sight
So the world was unbalanced of course
But the Goddess hadn't forgotten her name or the feminine power within
She rose from the Earth mound they'd buried her under
When the old ways were banished as sin.
Áine, Queen of the fairies was known as the bright joyous Goddess of Sun
but what was forgotten was she grew her light from both parents, not only one
By day she got strength from her father's rays warmed by his golden light
And then she could rest in a cool starlit bed embraced by her Mother at night
But Mother Earth was burning alive
her plants and creatures were dying
Aine heard themn calling for help
In her dreams she heard them crying.
She jumped astride her blood red mare and to her Mother Moon she flew
She bid her Mother swell the tides and lakes and rivers too.
So Mother Moon filed her belly full of silver stars and moonlit strands
And cooled the waters in the seas and the soil across the lands
And the people gasped at the miracle and the glory of the sight
The creatures on the land and sea gave thanks for Mother Moon and night
And from that day it was remembered that the world cannot survive
without balance in all aspects
We need both to stay alive
